What is Integrative Periodontal Medicine?

Transparency, authenticity, and constant patient advocacy are the norm here. While you trust us to be clear about treatment options, we trust you with the ultimate decisions for your health.

What we know

01

Periodontal treatment can be your first line of defense against other illnesses caused by inflammation.

02

Trained dentists can identify indicators for serious systemic problems in the rest of the body just by assessing your oral health.

03

Treatments we provide can lower your risk of cardiac arrest, diabetes, and stroke.

04

Almost half of US adults over 30 have some sort of periodontal disease. If you need treatment, you are not alone, and you are in the right place.

Types of Periodontal Disease

Gingivitis

This mild, common form of gum disease results in gums that bleed easily during normal brushing and flossing. Gum tissue appears red, swollen, and tender. When caught in its early stages, gingivitis is easily treatable with at-home remedies.

Periodontitis

When gingivitis is left untreated it can lead to periodontitis, where the gums start to separate from the teeth and form pockets. Without proper care, these pockets can deepen and cause early bone loss around the teeth, as well as tooth loss.

Treatment solutions.

When caught early, minimally invasive treatments are available to stop the spread of gum disease. More advanced interventions may be necessary, and our team is highly trained to take on these cases.

Scaling

Think of this as a high-tech dental cleaning that gets below the gumline to remove tartar and bacteria.

Root planing

This treatment smooths the surfaces of a tooth’s root so that bacteria has fewer places to hide and build up. Gums can re-attach to the new, clean tooth surface.

PerioLase

This laser treatment targets the bacteria that causes gum (soft tissue) inflammation in the first place. Rather than an invasive surgical procedure, this treatment promotes healthy gum and bone growth. Patients typically experience a faster healing process with laser treatment, too.

Gum Grafting

When the loss of gum tissue threatens the health of a tooth, we create a graft out of healthy tissue (usually taken from the roof of your mouth).

Bone Grafting

In advanced cases of Periodontitis, bone decay occurs around the teeth. Bone grafts prevent tooth loss and create a healthy surface for the regrowth of natural bone.

Guided tissue regeneration

In cases where bone loss isn’t too great, we have methods to encourage the growth of new natural bone before a graft is needed.
