If dental visits make you nervous, you’re not alone. Nearly one in three Americans experience dental anxiety and we’re here to make sure that doesn’t stand in the way of your oral health. Dr. Walker and our experienced team offer a range of safe sedation options to help you feel calm, comfortable, and confident through every step of your care.

Sedation dentistry helps you relax during any procedure making your visit completely pain-free and much more comfortable when combined with local anesthesia. It’s especially helpful for patients who feel anxious about dental treatment, dislike needles or the sounds of dental tools, need multiple procedures in one visit, or are preparing for oral surgery or dental implants. With sedation, you can sit back, relax, and get the care you need without stress or discomfort.

Perfect for mild to moderate anxiety, laughing gas is inhaled through a small mask placed over your nose. Within moments, you’ll feel light, calm, and at ease, but still awake and responsive. The effects wear off within minutes, so you can drive yourself home or return to work afterward.
If you experience higher levels of anxiety, oral sedation offers deeper relaxation. You’ll take a prescribed pill before your appointment, leaving you feeling drowsy, calm, and often unable to recall much of your visit. You’ll remain conscious and responsive but very relaxed, so you’ll need a friend or family member to drive you home after treatment.
For complex procedures or severe dental anxiety, IV sedation provides the deepest level of relaxation available. Medication is administered directly into your bloodstream for a rapid, controlled effect. You’ll likely sleep through your procedure and remember little to nothing afterward, while still breathing on your own.

Don’t let fear keep you from a healthy smile. With personalized sedation options from our team, you can enjoy a truly relaxing, pain-free dental experience.

Extremely safe. Dr. Walker has completed advanced training in sedation techniques and carefully reviews your medical history, medications, and health conditions to determine the best and safest option for you.
Coverage varies by policy. Most insurers only cover sedation for extensive oral surgeries, such as multiple extractions. Our team can help you review your benefits and explore transparent pricing or financing options if sedation isn’t covered.
Only if you choose nitrous oxide. Its effects wear off quickly, allowing you to safely drive and resume normal activities. For oral or IV sedation, you’ll need someone to drive you home, and it’s best to rest for the remainder of the day as the medication wears off.
